The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) provides employers in regional, remote or low population growth areas of Australia with the option of permanently employing suitably skilled foreign nationals. The RSMS Visa scheme provides a suitable alternative for employers who face difficulties in attracting and retaining skilled employees.
The Maranoa Regional Council is an accredited Regional Certifying Body (RCB) for the RSMS process. To fulfil this obligation, Council is required to assess whether the nominating entity is lawfully engaged in business, and the state of the local labour market. Council subsequently provides this information to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP), allowing their representatives to assess each Visa application.
Questions regarding the RSMS process can be directed to the Department Outreach Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org or to Ryan Gittins, Council’s Specialist – Business Development on 1300 007 662.
