Councillor Peter Flynn, Portfolio Chair for the Roma Saleyards said he was thrilled with the turnout at yesterday's special event.
"A big thank-you to everyone who made it to the Roma Saleyards to celebrate with us on Tuesday. In particular, we would like to thank our special guests - Minister Stirling Hinchliffe, Minister Mark Furner, Senator James McGrath and former Bungil Shire Mayor Ossie Behrend. We were delighted you were able to come along to celebrate this momentous occasion with us," Cr Flynn said.
"With 5,555 head of cattle going through the facility on Tuesday, we had over 100 visitors who were treated to an impressive yarding for our special sale day."
"Council was pleased to be able to offer halved selling fees for the day, which in conjunction with AAM Operations Pty Ltd's contribution of 20c per head on scanning and 30c per head on livestock movement put $33,329 back into the community."
