Maranoa Regional Council will offer a 50% reduction on live weight and open auction selling fees for each head of cattle sold at the Roma Saleyards Store Sale on Tuesday, 4 September 2018.
Councillor Peter Flynn, Portfolio Chair for Roma Saleyards said with the Maranoa region included in the 57.4% of Queensland currently drought declared, this is a way for Maranoa Regional Council and the Roma Saleyards to show support to our producers during these tough times.
"This halving of fees will have a positive effect on the agriculture industry and offer some financial relief to drought declared property owners who are being forced to reduce their herds," Cr Flynn said.
The current selling cost per head at the Roma Saleyards for liveweight cattle is $11.60 inc GST and $10.40 inc GST for cows and calves sold as a unit.
