Named for the former Bendemere Shire (Wallumbilla and Yuleba), the race day was the centre of early racing in the Roma region and home to the Wallumbilla Race Club, one of the first racing clubs established in the Maranoa.
The Bendemere Cup has been running for almost 50 years and since the dissolving of the old shire boundaries, the day has become a celebration of the new Maranoa region and showcases the spirit of co-operation in the wider community
With strong support from the local Wallumbilla/Yuleba business community and the promise of excellent racing, the race day has become one of the best attended meetings in the region and a gathering point for locals from across the Maranoa.
Several businesses from the former shire have supported the meeting since its inception five years ago - Bendemere Constructions, Midwest Rural Traders and Brandon and Associates.
- Gates open at 11am
- $6 gate entry, under 18s free
