Aid and Brisbane Radio Triple M Breakfast Show are heading to Roma on
Wednesday, 28 August to Thursday 29 August to Lend a Hand for the Land.
On Wednesday evening (28 August 2019), join us for a great night of laughter at Royal on
Ninety-Nine as Nick Cody puts on his hilarious (and sometimes inappropriate)
stand-up comedy show - from 6pm free comedy night (18+) and show starts at 7pm.
The idea behind the Rural Aid and Triple M trip to south western Queensland is
to give farmers and rural communities the opportunity to share their stories
with their city counterparts.
Many of us living in a thriving city environment can find it difficult to
comprehend the extent of the drought and its effect on farmers and rural
The realities of the harsh Australian conditions and natural disasters are
devastating for our farmers and rural communities on many levels.
The broadcast will also help our city communities understand the importance of
why supporting our farmers and rural communities during this unprecedented time
is so important.
Every year, agricultural industries contribute more than $10 billion to
Queensland’s economy. However, in June this year, 65 per cent of Queensland was
drought declared. The majority of that in the southern part of Queensland.
Whilst they are in Roma, Triple M will also be conducting interviews with local
farmers, business owners and people within the community.
