About the Festival
Maranoa Food & Fire Festival aims to bring communities across the region together for a diverse multicultural event showcasing international food and entertainment.
The festival was created in 2008 to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Great Fire of 1908 which blazed for a phenomenal 45 days after being accidently ignited during the drilling of a gas well on Hospital Hill, Roma. The biennial festival celebrates the long and prosperous oil and gas industry in the area which is still prominent today.
2015 will mark the fifth Food & Fire Festival, which has continued to grow since its inception, drawing a crowd of over 4,000 at the last event in 2013.

The Maranoa Food & Fire Festival will feature both local and international artists, with groups showcasing talents from Tonga, Brazil, India, Australia and the Maranoa.
Family band The Twine, will perform a dynamic show that is sure to get your hair raising, feet stomping and energy pumping! Winning crowd favourite on Australia’s Got Talent, the trio use up to five different instruments in their show to wow the audience.
Bringing some raw, singer-song-writing talent to the festival, is local ‘songbird’, Tamika Taylour, who was the supporting act for the Wolfe Brothers at last year’s Easter in the Country.
Australian band The Vernons has a blues-rock sound that will leave you wanting more! The band of four has played at the Big Day Out Festival and supported many bands such as Wolfmother, the Rubens and Wolf & Cub.
Get your dancing shoes on for the drumming beat of the Samba Blisstas, a large carnival style percussion band with a wild and whacky style. The group has performed at many festivals across Australia, such as Splendour in the Grass and Surfers Paradise Festival.
Sacred Circus Entertainment will also be dancing through the festival lanes with their fiery performances and stilt walkers! Always a fantastic sight, these quirky entertainers are sure to please with their unique and colourful costumes.
Other performers you won’t want to miss are Venice on Fire, St John’s Stage Traffic, 2PH Tongan.
Maranoa Food & Fire Festival is proud to announce this year’s celebrity chef – Darren Robertson, who will be sharing his passion for fresh, seasonal and simple outdoor cooking.
