​​​​The Maranoa is full of wonderful sights and things to do at Christmas. Follow our guide to cost-effective ways of celebrating the holidays in your own backyard!

  • Visit the Water Play Park at the Roma Swimming Pool and make a splash this summer!
  • Take a dip in a fresh water lagoon in Yuleba. Judd's Lagoon is a beautiful spot to take the family, have a picnic and enjoy a swim.
  • Take family and friends to visit the Big Rig in Roma. Make a day of it and have a BBQ lunch in the parklands!
  • Youngsters throughout the region can take part in Council's School Holiday Program during December and January.​
  • Regional art galleries will be open throughout the holiday season (except for public holidays) and feature a variety of       local arts and crafts.
  • Take a dip in the refreshing pools of the Mitchell Great Artesian Spa, and enjoy a bite to eat at the café.
  • Meet the Characters of Injune and go for a picnic at Henricks Park.

  • Support locally made products by stopping in at the Calico Cottage in Wallumbilla and buying a Christmas gift for someone special.
  • For the adrenaline seekers, grab your jet-ski or boat and head on down to the Balonne River in Surat for a day of action!
  • Visit the Wallumbilla Heritage Complex for an insight into the town's history, take a stroll along the Harry Thompson Walk.
  • Stop in at the Lenroy Slab Hut (at the Big Rig Parklands in Roma) and feed the ducks at the pond.
