​​​​Small​ Museums Conference 

You're invited to this year's exciting Small Museums Conference in Roma, a three-day event set to inspire attendees to share and preserve local history through museum experiences.

The theme of the event is Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow and will be a mixture of enticing sessions and hands-on workshops that will stimulate ideas and creativity to help local history come alive!

Featuring a key note presentation by the Senior Curator at Museums Victoria, Liza Dale-Hallett who specialises in the history of rural Victoria and is pinnacle in the national Invisible Farmer project (the largest ever study of Australian women on the land). 

Registration costs are as follows:

  • Conference Registration – Early Bird $170 or Standard $180
  • Conference Dinner – $60
  • Networking Event – Free
  • Sunday Bus Tour - $40​

Council is encouraging Maranoa volunteer groups to nominate a deserving volunteer for a chance to receive a complimentary ticket to the National Small Museums Conference in Roma this October.

Winners will have the opportunity to attend the conference at no cost. 

Each town and surrounds area will see two volunteers selected to attend the conference (please note, tickets only include conference days). Nominations are encouraged to be received from volunteer groups for individuals residing in the Maranoa Regional Council area only.  ​
