The Festival of Small Halls is a series of tours that take the best folk and contemporary acoustic artists and send them on the road to tiny halls in communities around Australia.
The successful community will be required to work with Woodfordia, the touring group, regarding marketing, ticket sales, secure an MC for the night and a working committee that will decorate the hall and clean up after the event.
Councillor Cameron O'Neil, Portfolio Chair for Events, said this festival is an opportunity to showcase the Maranoa community while hosting a range of talented artist from all over the country.
"Council encourages any local communities or groups interested to submit an Expression of Interest Form," Cr O'Neil said.
The community may benefit financially from the Festival of Small Halls with profits from ticket sales to be split evenly with Woodfordia and will also benefit from the sale of food and drink on the night.
Interested parties will be required to submit an Expression of Interest Form by Monday, 15 July 2019. To download the form, please visit www.maranoa.qld.gov.au/alerts.
