Jeté, Chassé, Plié all day with Queensland Ballet!

​​Queensland Ballet will be conducting workshops from Monday, 26 July to Wednesday, 28 July in schools and at the Roma Cultural Centre.

Queensland Ballet is thrilled to be travelling to Roma as part of its biggest Regional Community Tour ever, to share the magic of ballet across Queensland and the Northern Territory. This program will offer participants the chance to develop a deeper and ongoing connection with their state ballet company and foster their continued development skills and confidence.

Young dancers aged 2–17 years, senior participants, as well as school and studio teachers are invited to join Queensland Ballet for a range of inclusive workshops to explore the wonderful world of ballet.

Children from aged 2 –17 years will delight in tailored ballet workshops delivered by Queensland Ballet's highly skilled teaching artists. Queensland Ballet is offering Ballet for Seniors classes that are especially tailored for active adults with a focus on improving poise, core strength, memory, and mobility. QB Petit Pointers is Queensland Ballet's early years dance program for children aged 2 – 5 years, with lessons set within a framework of storytelling, exploration and artistic play. Queensland Ballet's In-School workshops provide safe, educative and inclusive dance experiences for students in kindergartens and schools, bringing the joy of dance to all! Educators and dance teachers can join Queensland Ballet's expert Teaching Artists for our inspiring Teacher Professional Development sessions.

Monday, 26 July

4pm – 4.30pm: Petit Pointers Class 2 -5yrs

4.30pm – 5.30pm: Ballet for seniors

 

Tuesday, 27 July

8.30am – 3.30pm: In-school workshops

4pm – 6pm: Teacher PD

4.15pm – 5.15pm: Community Class 6 – 11yrs

5.15pm – 6.15pm: Community Class 12 -17yrs

 

Wednesday, 28 July

8.30pm – 12.30pm: In-school workshops

 

The cost to participate in the regional tour is:

  • Community Classes (including Ballet for Seniors and Petit Pointers) at $10 per participant
  • Teacher professional development classes are $35 per participant
  • All in-school workshops are free.
