Nominate someone today for a Maranoa Australia Day Award!

These awards are to acknowledge members of the community whose achievements deserve to be recognised at the 2020 Maranoa Australia Day Awards.

Last year's Injune Citizen of the Year, Brigid Price, said it is a great honour to receive an Australia Day Award in the Maranoa.

"It's a great feeling to be recognised by your local community for your contribution and achievements," Ms Price said.

Brigid was recognised for her contributions to the Injune community and for her achievements in being one of ten people across Australia to receive a scholarship from the National Farmers Federation for a Diversity in Agricultural Leadership Mentoring Program.

The nine award categories include:

  • Citizen of the Year Award
    Eligible nominees must be 26 years or older as of 26 January 2020
  • Young Citizen of the Year Award
    Eligible nominees must be 25 years or younger as of 26 January 2020
  • Community Event of the Year Award
    Nominated events must have been held in the relevant Maranoa Regional Council area between November 2018 and November 2019
  • Cultural Award
  • Sports Award
    Eligible nominees must be 26 years or older as of 26 January 2020
  • Junior Sports Award
    Eligible nominees must be 25 years or younger as of 26 January 2020
  • Member Contribution Award
  • Achievement Award
  • Andrea Murray Memorial Award
    Eligible nominees must be volunteers who work with people with disability
