As part of this year's Budget, Council will commence construction this week on the Adungadoo & Town Footpath Connectivity Improvement Project in Roma. The first round of the project focuses on improving the current connectivity and safety for users of the Adungadoo Pathway.
Projects under this round include:
- Charles Street (from the Adungadoo Park entrance to George Street)
- Edwardes Street (from Roma's largest Bottle Tree to join the path on McDowall Street)
- Lovell Street (from Hawthorne Street North and along Lovell Street).
Works will begin at Lovell Street on Monday, 9 November 2020 and will continue until April next year (weather permitting).
Works will take place on the nature strip. Council staff will liaise with affected residents to minimise disruption.
Council thanks residents for their cooperation and patience while these works are completed.
Future works to improve footpath connectivity on the western side of Roma have also been approved in the 2020/21 budget. These works are currently being planned and will be delivered later in 2021.
These works form part of the Maranoa Region Footpath Connectivity Improvement Program which is an initiative of the Queensland Government.
