Yuleba War Memorial Mural Treatment Project Community Consultation in August

The Yuleba Memorial Hall features an incredibly detailed mural depicting many theatres of war was painted by a jackeroo, Robert Fred (known as Fred) Doyle in 1964.

The Yuleba War Memorial Mural Conservation Community Consultation will give residents an opportunity to understand why the need for this work has to be undertaken.

Council encourages residents to come along to the community consultation on Tuesday, 18 August 2020 at Yuleba Memorial Hall, Yuleba starting at 10am.

Council in conjunction with South West Queensland Regional Arts received a grant to engage a contractor, to provide a scope on how best to preserve the art. This work will include restoration advice and ways to cover the art to protect it from internal and external elements.

To ensure Council complies with social distancing measures (as per the Queensland Government directive) please RSVP to Tennielle Limpus on 1300 007 662 or email local.development.officers@maranoa.qld.gov.au to allow Council to ensure there is enough space for all those wishing to attend.

This is a great opportunity for the community to discuss and understand the treatment project.
