This acclaimed chef, television personality and food ambassador for the Lockyer Valley region will bring his experience and quick wit to the Maranoa region with his cooking demonstrations on the day.
Known for his roles in Network 10’s, Ready Steady Cook and Channel Seven’s Great Day Out, Alastair will discuss and demonstrate through his cooking, why good food is simple food.
“Food for me is about context. This empathy for ‘time and place’ enhances a dining experience. Meeting the farmers, growers and producers of the Maranoa and creating dishes with their produce will be a privilege,” Mr McLeod said.
“I wholeheartedly believe that there is no correlation between how complicated a dish is and how delicious it can be. My cooking is a celebration of the produce and our primary producers and not tricky, fiddly cooking. That, for me, is the cornerstone of good cooking.”
At the festival Alastair will showcase some of the region’s best produce, including the tender, grass fed cuts from local supplier, Maranoa Beef.
The event will take place at the Roma Big Rig Parklands from 3-9pm. Be sure to lock-in this free, family friendly event in your calendar today!
