Building on the original local community plans and community feedback received in 2016/17, there are 11 draft plans available for comment:
- The Maranoa Economic and Community Plan (Maranoa-wide strategies) and;
- 10 Local Plans (district specific strategies).
Residents can provide their feedback on these draft plans until Monday, 11 June 2018.
Councillor Cameron O'Neil, Portfolio Chair for Economic Development and Advocacy said the new plans recognise the need for both local jobs and quality lifestyle to foster sustainable communities.
"Council's economic and community plans are an important way to plan for our future as well as getting a better understanding of what residents need and want from their community and Council," Cr O'Neil said.
"The Maranoa Economic and Community Plan, in conjunction with each local community plan, is intended to provide direction and encourage cohesiveness in the action plans of Council, community organisations, business and other agencies."
"To achieve our collective visions, the plans focus on ensuring local jobs and quality lifestyles, which go hand-in-hand. This is why it is important for residents to provide feedback, as it will contribute to the long-term growth of our prosperous region."
Council will review all community comments before adopting the plans.
