Dogs to run, play and socialise with the construction of Roma's Off-Leash Dog Park!

Councillor Puddy Chandler, Portfolio Chair for Community Safety said the off-leash dog park, once complete, will be a great opportunity for responsible dog owners to exercise their pets in a safe and enclosed space.

"The park will be located at the entrance to Adungadoo Pathway, near Shady's Lagoon. As for those who live a little further away or are just passing through, parking is available close by off Charles Street," Cr Chandler said.

Designed in accordance with current Best Practice Guidelines, the new dog park will contain an open grassed area surrounded by a chain wire mesh fence with a dual gate entry, shade trees, waste bins, dog drinking bowls and water taps both inside and outside the park.

Works will commence this week and are anticipated to take five weeks to complete (weather permitting).

For safety, during construction, the area will be closed off to prevent access. Council requests that park users stay clear of the area until complete and thanks everybody for their patience during this time.
