The ex-rugby league player and now farmer/TV personality will be speaking to crowds in Surat, Mitchell, Injune and Wallumbilla about his career as well as his experiences on the land.
Councillor Cameron O'Neil Portfolio Chair for Events said it is very exciting to have Shane visit the region, especially when residents are still doing it tough with the ongoing drought.
"We know that events like these bring our communities together and boosts morale, so we're thrilled that Shane Webcke will be having a yarn with Maranoa residents," Cr O'Neil said.
"So grab your friends, enjoy a free dinner and meet one of our Aussie legends!"
A Yarn with Shane Webcke will be on at the following dates and locations:
Surat Shire Hall – Friday, 8 July at 6.30pm
Mitchell Shire Hall – Saturday, 9 July at 6.30pm
Injune Hall – Friday, 29 July at 5.30pm
Wallumbilla Showgrounds – Saturday, 30 July at 4.30pm
The events will also include kids' activities, dinner and a bar to purchase drinks.
Please RSVP by contacting your Local Development Officer on 1300 007 662.
This event has been supported by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services. Maranoa Regional Council received funding from the Queensland Government to provide social events and drought specific information to residents within the Maranoa region.
