Maranoa School Holiday Program set to keep youngsters entertained this summer

The Maranoa School Holiday Program runs throughout the Christmas / New Year break to provide our local youth with a variety of events and activities to keep entertained and active.

Highlights from the program include slime and snow making workshops, laser skirmish, movie nights, Christmas craft, and sporting activities.

Councillor Peter Flynn, Portfolio Chair for Youth, Sport and Recreation said with a wide range of activities on offer, there is sure to be something to suit everyone's interests.

"This holiday program features plenty of activities and events to keep everyone happy and entertained, whether it be Christmas activities, sport, dancing or art," Cr Flynn said.

"I encourage parents to get their children involved to keep them entertained during the holiday period."

The activities and events run from Saturday, 9 December 2017 – Saturday, 20 January 2018.

As well as activities run by Council and other community groups, parents can also take advantage of the many public facilities across the region including swimming pools, skate parks, playgrounds, libraries and sporting fields to keep their children active and entertained this summer.

You can pick up a School Holiday Program from your local Council Customer Service Centre, or download the program here.

Please note that children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and children under 12 attending library activities must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
