Maranoa volunteers - we want you!

With so much to see and experience, Council is in need of enthusiastic helpers to welcome visitors to our region and provide valuable information about its many unique attractions and industries.

Not only that, for anyone with a creative streak, we are also looking for friendly team members to volunteer at our local libraries and art

galleries!

Councillor Puddy Chandler, Portfolio Chair for Tourism said there are a number of volunteering opportunities throughout the region.

“Volunteers are the backbone of our many community groups and Council facilities, such as Visitor Information Centres, libraries and art

galleries,” Cr Chandler said.

“Essential to our thriving tourism industry, volunteers in our Visitor Information Centres provide vital information about the region to entice visitors to stay a while and enjoy themselves.”

“A rewarding experience for all involved, this is a fantastic opportunity to help your local community and become a part of a close network of people.”

Volunteers can:

• Receive on the job training and familiarisation tours throughout

the year.

• Lead storytelling, arts, crafts and reading groups for children and

adults in our libraries.

• Assist with the setup and pull down of exhibitions at art galleries.

• Tailor your commitment to fit your lifestyle.

If you think volunteering at our Visitor Information Centres, Libraries or Galleries could be for you, then please come and talk to us at Westlands Plaza in Roma on Tuesday, 14 March 2017.
