Australia Day

Do you know someone who has made an outstanding contribution in your community? Australia Day nominations are now open for the Maranoa region with residents to submit nominations by Friday, 27 November 2020.

These awards are to acknowledge members of the community whose achievements deserve to be recognised at the 2021 Maranoa Australia Day Awards.

This year has been very difficult for many businesses and members of our community. Nominating someone for an Australia Day award can show your appreciation to them during this time.

The nine award categories include:

  • Citizen of the Year Award
    Eligible nominees must be 26 years or older as of 26 January 2021
  • Young Citizen of the Year Award
    Eligible nominees must be 25 years or younger as of 26 January 2021
  • Community Event of the Year
    Nominated events must have been held in the relevant Maranoa Regional Council area between November 2019 and November 2020
  • Cultural Award
  • Sports Award
    Eligible nominees must be 26 years or older as of 26 January 2021
  • Junior Sports Award
    Eligible nominees must be 25 years or younger as of 26 January 2021
  • Member Contribution Award
  • Achievement Award
  • Andrea Murray Memorial Award
    Eligible nominees must be volunteers or employed in the disability sector.
