Maranoa kids now have another place to splash and play with the doors to Council’s much-anticipated Water Play Park in Roma now open!
Located at the Denise Spencer Memorial Swimming Pool, the park has been designed with littlies in mind, combining a fun-filled maze of spraying jets, stepping stones, creek zone, tunnel, smaller pumps and a shallow wading pool.
Councillor Wendy Newman, Portfolio Chair for Facilities said it is very satisfying to see the project come to fruition.
"Not only does the new play park enhance the already versatile facility, it also ensures the pool will be used by the community well into the future," Cr Newman said.
"Last Thursday, the park was trialled by some eager youngsters who had a ball exploring the many zones and features of the new area. With something for all ages, summer in Roma has never looked more fun!"
Families will be happy to see ‘soft fall’ flooring, umbrella shade structures and seating to keep a close eye on the little ones.
The play park is open during normal pool opening times - please visit www.maranoa.qld.gov.au for pool opening and closing times.
This project was 100% funded by Maranoa Regional Council.
