​​​Roma Saleyards

The largest cattle selling facility in Australia, selling over 400,000 cattle a year. Auctions happen every Tuesday and Thursday morning and are an incredible sight to see! Visitors can catch up with a local to experience the thrill of the auctions during a FREE tour on sale days.

Roma Saleyards Visitor Tours happen every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30AM (April – October, inclusive) and Tuesdays only from November until March, inclusive.

Mt Abundance Homestead

Built in 1860, Mount Abundance is the site of the first settlement in the Maranoa region. Tours are available by every Saturday and Sunday, appointment.

‘El Dorado’ Farm Tours

Reconnect and discover life on the land with a tour to ‘El Dorado’, a working cattle property located north of Roma.
From Roma, visitors are treated to insights into the operation of the property (operated by your tour guide, Alanah) and the stunning flora and fauna in the surrounding area, before enjoying a delicious lunch in the stunning gardens of ‘El Dorado’ homestead.

Bookings can be made through the Roma Visitor Information Centre on (07) 4622 8676. Payment is made as visitors board the bus, so phone bookings are most welcome and should be made by 3pm each Tuesday.


BOOBOOK Ecological Tours

Go bush with BOOBOOK’s ecologists, with exclusive access to local properties, guests can see spectacular gorges, spring fed waterways, working farms with gas infrastructure, wildflowers, rare plants and native wildlife. All meals supplied.

St. Paul's Anglican Church Visitor Tours

Experience the history of St Paul’s Anglican Church, built to become ‘The Cathedral of the west!’
St Paul’s Anglican Church houses an inspiring display of over 50 stunning Leadlight and Stained Glass Windows.
Be sure to take a tour of the church for an insight into the history and story behind each window and the features of the church, including the pipe organ, with 567 working pipes!

Tours are available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30AM – 11:30AM (April – October, inclusive).

Bonus Downs

Bonus Downs, a privately owned property run by genuine outback characters, Lyle and Madonna Connolly, is the ultimate outback experience!

Experience the magnificent, historic ‘Bonus Downs’ homestead, or find yourself on a tranquil bushwalk.
Be sure to experience the history of this stunning property southwest of Mitchell during a morning tour to the Ooline Forest. Visitors love experiencing the history of the homestead and a visit to the Ooline Park, before savouring some outback style damper and billy tea.
